<center> I originally saw this on Pinterest and I must say it has inspired me. I have posted the link to this in my "DIY Projects" tab at the top of this page. On her blog she goes over step by step directions on how she did this. I think this is a neat idea. Great way to turn those boring onesies into something cute for the summertime. Let me know if any of you attempt this. I want to see pictures!!! </center>

<Center>Hello to you all. It has been awhile since I have blogged. I hope all is well with everyone. I would like to introduce my sweet baby girl Ms Braelyn Madison. </center> <br />
<Center>I do want to keep this blog going but I would like to tailor it to baby/kids DIY activities vs just home decor things. Either way your input is always welcomed<br />

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-S_M95i5PahA/UH_3T5pOkjI/AAAAAAAAAag/C2tJVz7hqbI/s1600/DRESSER5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="252" width="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-S_M95i5PahA/UH_3T5pOkjI/AAAAAAAAAag/C2tJVz7hqbI/s400/DRESSER5.JPG" /></a></div>
<center>Hello to you all. I have yet another fun project for you to attempt. I try to make my projects practical and as frugal as possible. So one thing that I needed for the nursery was a dresser. I could easily go to the store and buy one, but what fun is that? I found this lady who was selling one for $20. I went to go look at it and the only flaw I saw was the color. All of the furniture in the nursery happens to be brown but for $20 I still took it and decided to paint it. This entire project cost me roughly $35 </center><br />
<center><b>Things I used </center></b>
<center>1. Dresser ($20) </center>
<center>2. Mod Podge Paste ($0, I had some in my art room)</center>
<center>3. Mod Podge Sealant Sprayer ($0, I had some in my art room) </center>
<center>4. Rust-oleum Paint ($8 at Home Depot)</center>
<center>5. Card Stock (4 for $1, sale at Jo-Ann's I bought 14 so I spent $3.21) </center>
<center>6. White knobs (pack of 6 for $1.99 at Ikea) </center>
<br />
<center>Ok lets get started!!!! This is what the original dresser looked like. It's not horrible but I knew I could make it better </center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pyEbWSiZdUw/UH_6ayrm1mI/AAAAAAAAAbA/I6SAc5_bfY0/s1600/DRESSER1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="400" width="299" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pyEbWSiZdUw/UH_6ayrm1mI/AAAAAAAAAbA/I6SAc5_bfY0/s400/DRESSER1.JPG" /></a></div> <br />
<center>Before I did anything I removed the drawers just to keep any painting accidents from happening. I tend to watch tv as I paint</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WISbdqQ6LJg/UH_67Ev3I3I/AAAAAAAAAbM/h7ZhEUn2bHw/s1600/DRESSER2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="400" width="299" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WISbdqQ6LJg/UH_67Ev3I3I/AAAAAAAAAbM/h7ZhEUn2bHw/s400/DRESSER2.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
<center>This is the Rust-oleum paint I used. It was worth the 8 bucks. I fully recommend it. </center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sB9725vgRNs/UH_7OQFJJYI/AAAAAAAAAbY/6ruHDhp4Rl8/s1600/PAINTCAN.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="400" width="299" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sB9725vgRNs/UH_7OQFJJYI/AAAAAAAAAbY/6ruHDhp4Rl8/s400/PAINTCAN.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
<center>I laid out my tarp and started painting. One thing I loved about the Rust-oleum paint is there are no fumes and it's safe to use indoors. Which was perfect for me because I was able to paint at night and I didn't have to worry about inhaling fumes.</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lqG8FGsuzDM/UH_7pLkDCmI/AAAAAAAAAbk/gHaWSFTnbZY/s1600/DRESSER3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="400" width="299" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lqG8FGsuzDM/UH_7pLkDCmI/AAAAAAAAAbk/gHaWSFTnbZY/s400/DRESSER3.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
<center>While this is drying you can work on the drawers. I apologize I forgot to take a picture of this step. What you need to do is remove the knobs from the drawers. Then put mod podge on the drawers. After I did that I put the card stock on top of the mod podge. I let it dry for about 10-15 minutes. Then I put mod podge on top of the card stock. Put it to the side and let it dry. If you need to see pictures then reference my ceramic coaster diy and do this the same way just using drawers vs ceramic tile</center><br />
<center>Once the drawers are dried it's up to you what you'd like to do next. I'm putting this in a childs room so I decided to spray mod podge sealant on top for further protection. Whether you do that or not is up to you. Put the knobs back on, and place the drawers back in the dresser</center><br />
<center>This is how mine came out</center>

I hope everyone had a productive creative weekend. I attempted this week to make some hanging wall art for the nursery. ***Disclaimer: This was my first attempt at such a thing***</center><br />
<center> There..glad I got that disclaimer out of the way. Here is a picture of the things I used</center><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hzJshpBZyXI/UHLbS_B2HPI/AAAAAAAAAY4/a-tdU6SqfDs/s1600/photo%2B1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="239" width="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hzJshpBZyXI/UHLbS_B2HPI/AAAAAAAAAY4/a-tdU6SqfDs/s320/photo%2B1.JPG" /></a></div> <br />
<center>One tip that I do have for anyone who is going to paint on canvas is to put push pins on the backside in each corner. I know you're looking at me weird but I promise you this works. The purpose of this is to elevate your canvas which will prevent it from sticking to your drop cloth, sheet, etc. It sucks to paint something then have to peel it from the sheet/cloth.</center><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kyfKcK4Co8w/UHLb0-q27nI/AAAAAAAAAZE/3P_SM2ohSqc/s1600/photo%2B2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kyfKcK4Co8w/UHLb0-q27nI/AAAAAAAAAZE/3P_SM2ohSqc/s320/photo%2B2.JPG" /></a></div> <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JKKUu4uIh8I/UHLb5E93-NI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/TnrKgC3gd44/s1600/photo%2B3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="239" width="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JKKUu4uIh8I/UHLb5E93-NI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/TnrKgC3gd44/s320/photo%2B3.JPG" /></a></div><center>So I painted the entire canvas brown because that's what I wanted my background to be.<center><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IzG2fhsqzvo/UHLcmlPEVoI/AAAAAAAAAZc/GbQ3KHQfrSk/s1600/photo%2B4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="239" width="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IzG2fhsqzvo/UHLcmlPEVoI/AAAAAAAAAZc/GbQ3KHQfrSk/s320/photo%2B4.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<center>After it dried, I just wrote on it this scripture that I liked. You can of course write whatever you choose to. It's your project so you can do whatever you want to :) </center> <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fSKH2S5RWV4/UHLdAuEShZI/AAAAAAAAAZo/2Q3m0vZEINg/s1600/photo%2B5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fSKH2S5RWV4/UHLdAuEShZI/AAAAAAAAAZo/2Q3m0vZEINg/s320/photo%2B5.JPG" /></a></div>Myieshea Dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13201669286226290416noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-690437911292945588.post-59326908765989190902012-09-26T09:35:00.000-04:002012-09-26T09:35:23.442-04:00 Baby Blanket <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<center>Hello hello hello to you all</center><br />
<center>I hope everyone had a great summer. I recently took some time off but now I'm officially back. I recently found out that I am expecting. So it's a very exciting time for me. One thing that I realized is just how expensive it is to decorate a nursery. Some things are sheerly ridiculous. So I've decided that I will make some things and some things I'll buy. My first project was to sew a baby's blanket. I hit a few bumps here and there but overall I was impressed with how it turned out. So impressed that I'm going to add this item to my Etsy shop.</center><br />
<b><center>Supplies I Used</center></b><br / >
<center>1. Two pieces of fabric--Rectangle shape. The top fabric was 22" x 32" and the bottom fabric was 25" x 35"</center><br />
<center>2. Matching thread</center><br />
<center>3. Quilt Batting</center><br />
I found this Winnie the Pooh and Chocolate fabric at Wal-mart. I didn't pay over $8 for it<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aFOEt27wwqI/UGINnLY1XEI/AAAAAAAAAXU/jVWiHVSvMFA/s1600/blanket.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aFOEt27wwqI/UGINnLY1XEI/AAAAAAAAAXU/jVWiHVSvMFA/s320/blanket.JPG" /></a></div>

<center>Hello to you all!! I hope everyone had an amazing 4th. I've been a bit absent from my blog but yesterday I worked on a fab-u-lous project. It was super easy and I encourage you all to try it.<br /></center>
<br />
<center>I was at a yard sale and stumbled upon this night stand. The guy only wanted $10 for it. After a thorough inspection I determined it was perfect for what I wanted. I'm super excited with the way it came out. I didn't have to strip it & used a black stain. I kept the original handles but sprayed them white..and tada..I got an amazing night stand<br /> </center>

<center>Happy Tuesday everyone!! Last night I burned the midnight oil trying to finish up my nieces birthday gift. I found this gift idea on Google believe it or not & fell in love. I was beyond amazed how well my first one came out and I can't wait to make many many more. I hope everyone has a very productive day. Until next time </center>

What a long day this has been. I finally decided to tackle the "purple room".. There is this room that I guess the previous owner used as an Office. for whatever reason they painted the room a dark purple color. Almost like a plum color. The color was way too dark for that small space. You never want to paint a small room a dark color, it'll make it look smaller then what it really is. So I've been putting it off for the longest and decided to finally tackle it today. I tried that new Glidden Duo paint for the first time & I'm a true believer. It's a paint & primer in one. Here are some before and after pics. I am 100% satisfied with the results . This room will be my new art/sewing room!! Yippee</center><br />

<center>Hello to you all..
Its been super busy on this end. I have tons of projects lined up. This evening I tried my hand at a refashion. Im doing this sewing challenge and my submission will be a refashion. So tonight I tried my luck at one. It was my first time adding elastic to something. I had a few bumps in the road but I was overall pleased. Hope everyone had a wonderful day. <center>Happy Tuesday to you all. So I am beginning to make progress with this challenge. I took some time out yesterday to come up with ideas. One thing I saw on the contest rules is that you can refashion existing garments as long as a sewing machine/hand sewing is involved. This seems to be right up my ally. I love turning ugly, used, worn out things into something beautiful.</center><br />
<center>I have this dress that I got from the Goodwill for $6.75. It's ok looking but it doesn't have the most flattering look on my body type. So for my challenge I will cut it up and turn that dress into a very trendy skirt. I'm super excited. So stay tuned to follow my journey. Until next time </center><br />

<center>Happy Monday everyone. So I am super excited. I have great news. Well let's hope it's great news and not potential suicide. hahaha. But I decided to join this contest. It's called "Garment Sewing Challenge." Participants have to make one garment that they would be PROUD to wear in public then viewers/the public will vote on it. I'm super excited about it but nervous at the same time. I do think that I am creative enough to do this and I think it'll be a great way to further advertise my blog. Regardless I will be very proud of whatever I sew and I will blog about my progress every step of the way. Until next time :) </center>Myieshea Dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13201669286226290416noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-690437911292945588.post-29346522085960109842012-05-06T22:39:00.001-04:002012-05-30T09:00:08.598-04:00Padded Fabric Letters<center> Hello hello hello!!! I hope everyone had a well rested weekend thus far. My DIY project for this weekend was a Decorative Wallplate. I was going to do a step by step tutorial but it's pretty much the same steps as the Coaster Tutorial. The only difference is instead of ceramic tile, I used a Wallplate. It's super easy to do & super cute. If you attempt this DIY, post pics on here. I'd love to see it..take care guys..</center><br />

I hope everyone is having a great Friday. I just wanted everyone to know I did attempt to make additional coasters last night. These coasters have a border around them. In yesterdays post I said I'd show you all what they would look like if you decided to do a border. Take Care and don't forget to come back for the next tutorial. That one will consist of face plates for electrical sockets. Happy Friday</center><br />

Just Make it<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fLIrP-DaPVE/T6MLcd4HlkI/AAAAAAAAAN4/DWarcWfp6xU/s1600/coaster.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="166" width="221" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fLIrP-DaPVE/T6MLcd4HlkI/AAAAAAAAAN4/DWarcWfp6xU/s320/coaster.jpg" /></a></div><center>Happy Thursday to you all!! I hope this week is treating you right. Last night I decided to try the DIY Ceramic Tile project that I posted about earlier this week. I must say..it came out nice. This post will be a tutorial so that you all can go home and do-it-yourself.</center><br />
<center><br />
<b>Step 1</b>: Get your supplies together<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rEBr1XsV0tM/T6J-9iwIJ_I/AAAAAAAAAKg/-IGPBJOIB60/s1600/t1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rEBr1XsV0tM/T6J-9iwIJ_I/AAAAAAAAAKg/-IGPBJOIB60/s320/t1.JPG" /></a></div><br />
-<b>Four 8x8 tiles</b> (Home Depot for $0.16/tile)<br />
-<b>Tarp </b>(this isn't mandatory but I recommend putting something down so you don't get glue on your floor. Don't use plastic, it'll stick to your tiles)<br />
-<b>Scissors</b> <br />
-<b>Mod Podge Paste</b> (about $6) <br />
-<b>Mod Podge Acrylic Glossy Sealer </b> (about $6) <br />
-<b>Tacky Glue </b> (about $3) <br />
-<b>Scrapbook paper</b> (about $0.97/sheet)(of your choosing)<br />
-<b>Foam brush </b> (about $1) <br />
-<b>Paint tray</b>, (about $0.97) dish, whatever you want to use to put the glue in <br />
-<b>Cork on the roll or sheet</b> (about $3.97 at Jo-Ann's)<br />
</center><center><br />
<b>Step 2:</b> Cut your scrapbook paper into squares<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pgxEtjmgO4c/T6KCerHk1qI/AAAAAAAAAKw/T1Vl5vFP5P0/s1600/t2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pgxEtjmgO4c/T6KCerHk1qI/AAAAAAAAAKw/T1Vl5vFP5P0/s320/t2.JPG" /></a></div><br />
-Now with this, you can make the scrapbook paper the same size of the tile or a bit smaller. If you make it a bit smaller, the tile will have a border. Either way will look nice. I will try to do some with a border tonight and post it tomorrow..deal? </center><br />
<center><br />
<b>Step 3:</b> Get your paste together<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IevSo3hpidY/T6KFniQy0SI/AAAAAAAAALA/0ZBioamjWzw/s1600/t3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IevSo3hpidY/T6KFniQy0SI/AAAAAAAAALA/0ZBioamjWzw/s320/t3.JPG" /></a></div></center><br />
<center><br />
<b>Step 4:</b> Spread your paste on the tiles<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hOHjituQ6i0/T6KGZR2HiDI/AAAAAAAAALM/83aJv4MO6ko/s1600/t4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hOHjituQ6i0/T6KGZR2HiDI/AAAAAAAAALM/83aJv4MO6ko/s320/t4.JPG" /></a></div><br />
</center><center><br />
<b>Step 5:</b> Place your scrapbook squares on the tile<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aMZh3veumh8/T6KGxcwWMaI/AAAAAAAAALY/H_eVnF2FFyc/s1600/t5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aMZh3veumh8/T6KGxcwWMaI/AAAAAAAAALY/H_eVnF2FFyc/s320/t5.JPG" /></a></div><br />
Let this sit for about 15 minutes or so. You basically want this to dry/adhere before you continue to mess around with it.</center><center><br />
<b>Step 6:</b> Put Mod Podge Paste on top<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZUxaLVzdCHM/T6KIA5PRoYI/AAAAAAAAALk/-NhsL6OtgNI/s1600/t1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZUxaLVzdCHM/T6KIA5PRoYI/AAAAAAAAALk/-NhsL6OtgNI/s320/t1.JPG" /></a></div><br />
When you put the mod podge on top of the tile, you will notice it becomes white looking. This is very normal. It will dry clear I promise. Let this sit until dry.</center><center> It will look like this once it's dry. Clear again</center><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-c4UE-ui8RfM/T6KIg7C71UI/AAAAAAAAALw/uVZTLEDG0k0/s1600/t2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-c4UE-ui8RfM/T6KIg7C71UI/AAAAAAAAALw/uVZTLEDG0k0/s320/t2.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<center><br />
<b>Step 7:</b> Get your Mod Podge Acrylic Spray ready<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OeuduOq3BQc/T6KJPZopqsI/AAAAAAAAAMI/2LaVzGWnmKg/s1600/t3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OeuduOq3BQc/T6KJPZopqsI/AAAAAAAAAMI/2LaVzGWnmKg/s320/t3.JPG" /></a></div><br />
This is what it looks like after you spray it. Nice and glossy<br />
</center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-06IRksmyiwM/T6KJI6ueMaI/AAAAAAAAAL8/tbqc165xKhY/s1600/t4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-06IRksmyiwM/T6KJI6ueMaI/AAAAAAAAAL8/tbqc165xKhY/s320/t4.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<center> Now let this dry. Maybe an hour or so. I actually fell asleep and woke up in the morning and they were dry.</center><center><br />
<b>Step 8:</b> Get your Cork backing ready<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v37U8iqejN8/T6KKP8JMwCI/AAAAAAAAAMU/aR49ge1kxqs/s1600/t5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v37U8iqejN8/T6KKP8JMwCI/AAAAAAAAAMU/aR49ge1kxqs/s320/t5.JPG" /></a></div><br />
For this step I cut the cork backing similar to how I cut the scrapbook paper.</center><br />
<center><br />
<b>Step 9:</b> Place Tacky Glue on the back of the tile<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VPbKd-9c0mU/T6KLUhsEAkI/AAAAAAAAAMs/d5V5o4F8MPA/s1600/t1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VPbKd-9c0mU/T6KLUhsEAkI/AAAAAAAAAMs/d5V5o4F8MPA/s320/t1.JPG" /></a></div><br />
</center><center><br />
<b>Step 10: </b> Place cork backing on<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VsCsakOyrhc/T6KMUr2mUdI/AAAAAAAAAM4/kXetbGn2DeU/s1600/t2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VsCsakOyrhc/T6KMUr2mUdI/AAAAAAAAAM4/kXetbGn2DeU/s320/t2.JPG" /></a></div><br />
I flipped them over once I glued them on so they could dry/adhere better</center><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4N9JQD_bN0M/T6KMmJFfWLI/AAAAAAAAANE/9DbmxqUhFlo/s1600/t3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4N9JQD_bN0M/T6KMmJFfWLI/AAAAAAAAANE/9DbmxqUhFlo/s320/t3.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<center><br />
<b>Step 11:</b> Once dried, cut off any excess cork and ta-da you're done...ENJOY THOSE COASTERS :)</center><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-84lUrY7YSIk/T6KNLavTuWI/AAAAAAAAANQ/pzGGJ0cVxDE/s1600/t4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-84lUrY7YSIk/T6KNLavTuWI/AAAAAAAAANQ/pzGGJ0cVxDE/s320/t4.JPG" /></a></div><br />

<center>Happy Tuesday everyone. Boy has this been a really tough week. I had to move out of my apartment last Saturday and I was supposed to close on this home last Friday. Seemed like a pretty good plan right? Well not so much. It turned out that my closing date was pushed back due to an issue with the seller. Talk about a worse case scenario. So my living situation is not as I'd hope but i'm hoping that will turn around in the next 48 hours. **fingers crossed** I'm trying very hard to stay positive, so I'll tell you about some things I found while searching the internet.</center><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wGh0ALQ-FzE/T6AUHR1kcGI/AAAAAAAAAJs/dOyuhAwW-QE/s1600/joann.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="60" width="210" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wGh0ALQ-FzE/T6AUHR1kcGI/AAAAAAAAAJs/dOyuhAwW-QE/s320/joann.jpg" /></a></div>
<center>
1. <a href="http://www.joann.com">Jo-Ann's Fabric</a> is having a really great "web exclusive" fabric sale. Every yard of fabric is on sale. From 30-50% off. If you are like me and always has a project looming around the corner, this may be a great time to stock up.</center><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zCXJUJ52qD8/T6AUVGMBPAI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/SmNb5_yEye0/s1600/fabric.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="214" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zCXJUJ52qD8/T6AUVGMBPAI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/SmNb5_yEye0/s320/fabric.jpg" /></a></div>
<center>
2. I don't know about you but I am horrible with always trying to figure out exactly how many yards of fabric I need to complete a project. I always seem to have way more then I need. I guess it's better to have more then less right? Well I found this app for my Iphone. It's called <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fabric-converter/id399135696?mt=8"> Fabric Converter</a> and it's in the Apple Store. Check it out when you get a chance </center><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mpMYxKhjqls/T6AVikDDckI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/H7TkfX_5zf8/s1600/coasters" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mpMYxKhjqls/T6AVikDDckI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/H7TkfX_5zf8/s320/coasters" /></a></div>
<center>
3. Last but not least. I found this blogger named <a href="http://twogirlsbeingcrafty.blogspot.com/2011/02/ramseys-finally-have-coasters.html"> Two Girls Being Crafty</a>. She decorated these coasters with scrapbook paper. Super super cute. I have a flea market show to do on the 12th. I will be making these for sure and adding them into my Etsy shop.</center><br />
Well until the next post...Myieshea Dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13201669286226290416noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-690437911292945588.post-44140015844801649672012-04-27T09:27:00.000-04:002012-05-30T09:01:42.996-04:00DIY Spare Toilet Paper Holder<center>Happy Friday to you all. Are you all gearing up for the weekend? Knock out a new DIY project, I promise it'll make you feel better once you complete it. Here's a neat little DIY that I came across while searching the net. It's a Spare Toilet Paper Holder designed by <a href="http://tracystreasury.com/do-ityourself/sewing/house/tp/holder.html">Tracys Treasury</a>.
I just bought this new shower curtain and fabric for the bathroom. I really think this can be a nice addition. Visit my "DIY Projects" section, I have a direct link to Tracy Treasury's website. Let me know if you attempt to make this. Have a great weekend guys, I'm in the process of moving but if I find another project, I'll make sure to post it

Happy Sunday to you all. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I don't know where everyone is from but here in Baltimore it's cold and rainy today. Perfect sleeping or brainstorming weather. <br />
<br />
Me being the person I am, I'm always looking for new projects and ideas. I was browsing the internet and found these really cool stone coasters. I'm thinking about adding them to my Etsy shop. What do you think? Would you buy them? Once I make my version of these, I'll be sure to post them</center><br />
<br />
Happy Sunday :)<br />

I received an order for a River Rock Mat. Its a very time consuming project because you're gluing individual rocks to a mat but the outcome is beautiful. I have attached pictures below but if you're interested in just buying one please visit my ETSY shop to place an order. There's a tab at the top of this page that will take you directly there..<br />
Happy Friday & if you think it you can make it. :) <br />
<br />
</center><center>P.S. I initially tried to use a hot glue gun..save yourself the trouble..I fully recommend E6000. If you want a glossy look then spray Mod Podge on the rocks. Remember any kind of rocks can be used</center> <br />

I came across this blogger named <a href="http://iffyscraps.blogspot.com/2010/10/75-curtain-rod-for-less-than-15.html">Iffy Scraps</a><br />
On her page is a DIY project. She made a curtain rod out of PVC Pipe. The total project cost was $15. Check out these pictures. I don't know about you but I'm truly impressed and I think this is a project I just may have to attempt</center><br />

One thing that I will admit is that it's a pretty scary world. However, learning how to sew I felt would open up more things for me to create outside of a glue gun. So last week, I went bravely to the store and bought a beginners machine. I bought the Brothers LX2500. Looks real legit right?</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eNj5EMPwwKY/T48kQLW5TOI/AAAAAAAAAEA/fbeNpIszhzg/s1600/sewing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="200" width="200" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eNj5EMPwwKY/T48kQLW5TOI/AAAAAAAAAEA/fbeNpIszhzg/s200/sewing.jpg" /></a></div>
<center>I will be the first to admit. When I got the machine home, I had NO IDEA what to do next. One thing that I like about this machine was that the directions were really easy to follow. I also logged onto YOUTUBE and looked at a few videos as well. Next thing I knew I was all threaded up and ready to go.</center>
<center>I next went to Wal-Mart to buy some very inexpensive yet super cute fabric.</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<center>I was determined to make pillow cases for my throw pillows. I watched a billion YOUTUBE videos and looked at a dozen DIY sites and looky what I made</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<center>They aren't 100% perfect, but they do look really good. My next project this weekend was a makeup brush holder. I made it from Jute Cord. Neat idea. Very time consuming, but if you're interested in one just visit my Etsy shopMyieshea Dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13201669286226290416noreply@blogger.com0
